Potty Training While Pregnant Or Adopting

Many helpful people will recommend that you potty train your older child before the new baby arrives. Do not hesitate if your older child is ready. Keep this additional tips in mind.

  • Watch out for the pressure of finishing on time. It's far better to set a solid foundation than to scramble the completely finish potty training.

  • Emphasize potty training time as a positive together timer.

  • Make a photo book for your older child. So he can read it when the new baby arrives. Your older child never leaves babyhood behind. It will stay within him. Include picture of him in the potty and a picture of his diapers, and his potty chair next to the baby's tiny little diaper changing table.

  • Do not despair if you don't see readiness traits and your early in your pregnancy. Pregnancy last a long time. If your child is a new two year old, the length of your pregnancy is nearly a third of her life span. You have time.

  • If your close to the end of your pregnancy and your child is not ready, wait. Wait until the baby is over six weeks old and the house hold has settle into a comfortable new routine. Enjoy the baby, give his big sister or brother time to fall in love too. Welcoming the baby is far more important than potty training.
